Meta Muse Is a Model Line and an Agent

Meta Muse is two things. It is the name of the family of AI models from Meta Superintelligence Labs, which began with Muse Spark on Apr 8, 2026. Since Sep 8, it is also the name of Meta's personal AI agent, Muse, which Meta says is "powered by Muse Spark". A separate product, Muse Code, is Meta's coding agent for the terminal.

The models: Spark, Wonder and two open-weight models

Meta introduced Muse Spark on Apr 8 as "the first in the Muse family of models developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs", available at meta.ai and in the Meta AI app, the company said in its launch post. Muse Spark 1.1 followed on Jul 9 with a 1-million-token context window and a public preview of the Meta Model API. Muse Spark 1.2, a coding-focused update, came on Aug 5, and Muse Spark 1.3 on Sep 2, available "in Muse Code and in Meta Model API".

On Oct 12, Meta introduced Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, which it called "our most capable models". Muse Wonder is available through the Meta Model API and Muse Code, and Muse Wonder Full to Muse Code subscribers. Meta said Muse Wonder "will soon power experiences in Muse, and will roll out first to subscribers".

Two Muse models have open weights. Meta released Muse Glimmer, a 30-billion-parameter model under Apache 2.0, on Aug 10, and said it is small enough to run "on a Mac or PC with a single consumer GPU". A developer-blog post dated Aug 12 says "This week, we released Muse Glimmer". Muse Spark Open, released on Oct 15, is "the open weights version of Muse Spark": an 816-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model that activates about 42 billion parameters per token.

The agents: Muse and Muse Code

Meta introduced Muse, the personal agent, on Sep 8. People talk to it "in the Muse app or directly in WhatsApp", and it runs on Muse Secure VM, "a dedicated, virtual machine (VM) that houses both the agent and a person’s data". It was rolling out in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai. Meta's Sep 29 post on Muse for Small Business described it as available in the US and Canada, and Meta made it available in Singapore on Oct 27.

Muse Code came first, on Aug 5, as "a terminal coding agent powered by Muse Spark 1.2", in beta. Meta took it out of beta on Aug 31, with monthly subscription plans and a developer preview of its SDK.

Muse and Meta AI

Muse Spark first shipped on Apr 8 in Meta AI, at meta.ai and in the Meta AI app. Muse, the agent, has its own app and website, muse.ai, and works through WhatsApp.
