35 of 7,173 Kimi K3.1 Pro Posts on X Share One Format

Moonshot AI announced Kimi K3.1 Pro on X on Oct 23. Of the 7,173 posts on X that named the model in the next four days, 35 posts by 25 accounts carry at least four of five parts: they say the test used the same prompt, say it was one shot, set Kimi beside Claude Opus 5.5, give each model's time or cost, and end on a question to readers. Five posts carry all five.

@nathangu76 opened with “One-shot. Same prompt. Same tools.” on Oct 23, @arncof with “Same prompt. One shot.” on Oct 24, and @dromexa with “Same exact prompt, one shot each, no fixes” on Oct 25. @Nirobsw wrote “Same prompt, one shot, no help.” on Oct 26 and @LumeoLab “same one-shot fps prompt, no edits from me” on Oct 27.

Each then lists the two models' times or costs, line by line, and closes by asking readers to choose: “Which would you pick?”, “Which one would you ship?”, “which one would you ride?”, “Opus or Kimi?” and “would you wait 13 extra minutes to save half?”

20 more without the words one shot

Twenty posts carry every part but “one shot.” The most viewed, @0xRhinoX with about 25,000 views, opens “Same prompt: rainbow jelly you can cut, nail and torch.” and ends “Would you still pay for Opus?” @keydol123 wrote “Same prompt. Same bamboo forest” and asked “Would you pay 4x more for the right one?” Nine accounts posted the format more than once; @noclipepe did three times.

Same format, different verdicts

The posts agree in form but not in result. @nathangu76 wrote “I think Opus won clearly,” @dromexa “My pick: Kimi,” and @Nirobsw that “Opus wins on detail and atmosphere. Kimi wins on price and speed.” Opus 5.5 took 3m 56s in @LumeoLab's test and 65 minutes in @dromexa's.

None of the 35 says in its text that it was paid or sponsored. One, @daveeyyy_'s post of Oct 24, showed X's Paid Partnership label on Oct 28; the other 34 did not. On Oct 27, two other accounts said X had locked them until they added the same label to Kimi K3.1 Pro posts they say were not paid: @ramez wrote that X “forced me to add a ‘Paid Partnership’ label to a tweet that was in no way paid,” and @LuminaBench that the label went “on two of my posts that weren't paid partnerships.”

Frontier Log searched X for posts naming “Kimi K3.1,” “Kimi-K3.1,” “K3.1 Pro” or “K3.1-Pro,” in English, retweets excluded, from Moonshot's launch post at 17:15 UTC on Oct 23 to 17:15 UTC on Oct 27, and read every page of results: 7,173 posts by 4,071 accounts. Each post's text was tested for the five parts with fixed rules, and every post with three or more was read in full on x.com.

A post has the comparison part when it names Opus, and the time or cost part when it gives a time or a cost for each of two or more runs; list prices per token don't count. Views are as x.com showed them on Oct 28.
